Doctor Strange (2016)

Doctor Strange is an American superhero film in 2016 with the character of Marvel Comics of the same name, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. This is the fourth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Scott Derrickson, who wrote the screenplay with C. Robert Cargill of a story by the duo and Jon Spaihts, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Benedict Wong, Michael Stuhlbarg, Benjamin Bratt, Scott Adkins, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton. In the strange Doctor Stephen Strange surgeon learns the mystical arts of the old after retirement car accident.

Various incarnations of Doctor Strange film has been in development since the mid-1980s until Paramount Pictures has acquired the film rights in April 2005 on behalf of Marvel Studios. Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer have been brought on board in June 2010 to write a screenplay. In June 2014, Derrickson and Spaihts were hired to direct and re-write the film, respectively. Cumberbatch was chosen for the eponymous role in December 2014, requiring a schedule change to work around other commitments. This gave Derrickson time to work on the script itself, for which he brought Cargill to help. The film began principal photography in November 2015 in Nepal before moving to the UK, and concluded in New York City in April 2016. The filming also took place in Hong Kong.

Doctor Strange had its world premiere in Hong Kong October 13, 2016, and was released in the United States November 4, 2016, in 3D and IMAX 3D. The film grossed over $ 132 million, and received positive reviews from critics, who particularly praised its unique visuals, acting and musical score.

Plot :

In Kathmandu, Nepal, the Kaecilius sorcerer and his fanatical enter the Kamar-Taj complex and secret kill his librarian, keeper of ancient and mystical texts. They steal a ritual from a book belonging to the ancient sorcerer who lived for an unknown time and taught all to Kamar-Taj, including Kaecilius in the ways of the mystic arts. The Old pursuing traitors, but Kaecilius escapes with pages and some of his followers.

Stephen Strange, an acclaimed neurosurgeon, lost the use of his hands in a car accident. His colleague and ex-lover Christine Palmer tries to help to advance, but Strange, believing he can resume the use of his hands, rather uses all its resources in searching for experimental surgery in vain. After learning of Jonathon Pangborn, a paraplegic who mysteriously was able to walk again, Strange seeks out and headed to Kamar-Taj. There, Strange is taken by another wizard under the old, Mordo. The Old Strange shows its power, revealing the astral plane and other dimensions such as Mirror of Dimension. Strange asks him to teach, and she accepted despite his arrogance, reminding him Kaecilius.

Strange began his tutelage under the Old and Mordo, and learns of old books in the library, now chaired by Wong master.Strange teaches that the Earth is protected from other dimensions formed by a spell of three buildings called sanctums, found in New York, London and Hong Kong. The task wizards to protect shrines, although Pangborn has chosen to give up this responsibility for the channeling of mystical energy in the march again. Strange advance rapidly over several months, even secretly reading the text Kaecilius stole and learn to bend time with mystical eye Agamotto. Mordo and Strange Wong put on guard against the violation of the laws of nature, by comparing his arrogant desire for power than Kaecilius who believes, after the death of his relatives, everyone should have eternal life.

Kaecilius and his followers use the stolen pages to start calling the powerful Dormammu of the dark dimension, where time does not exist and can all live forever. This destroys the Sanctum of London, and sends Kamar-Taj Strange at the New York Sanctum. The fanatics then attack it, where Strange retains the mystical cloak of levitation until Mordo and the Old arrive. Mordo and Strange became disillusioned with the Old Kaecilius reveals that after her long life came from his own use of Dormammu of power. Kaecilius mortally wounds the Elder, and escapes to Hong Kong. The Old Strange said it will also break the rules to balance the unshakable nature of Mordo. She dies, despite the best efforts of a Strange and bewildered Palmer. Mordo and Strange arrived in Hong Kong to find Wong dead and destroyed the Sanctum with the Dark Dimension already engulfing the Earth. Strange uses the eye to go back and save Wong, before creating an infinite time loop inside the dark dimension that trap Dormammu himself and at the same time forever. Strange agrees to break the loop if Dormammu leaves Earth, and it takes Kaecilius and zealots with him.

Disgusted by the contempt of Strange and the Ancient to the consequences of defying nature, Mordo hand. Strange returns to the eye, Wong called a stone of infinity, to Kamar-Taj, then moved to New York to continue his studies Sanctum.In a scene from mid-credits, Strange is visited by Thor, who brought his brother Loki to Earth to seek his father Odin. In a post-credits scene, Mordo visit Pangborn and steals the energy it uses to walk, declaring that the Earth too wizards.
